have you ever try " electronic cigarette " ?

e-cigaretteelectronic cigarette) is something feels like a cigarette, looks like a cigarette but it isn't bad for your health.it even has vapor. In many ways, it is like an actual smoking experience.  http://www.e-cigar.ca/

An e-cigarette is an alternative to smoked tobaccoproducts, such as cigarettescigars, or pipes. It is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of nicotine by delivering a vaporized propylene glycol/nicotine solution. In addition to nicotine delivery, this vapor also provides a flavor and physical sensation similar to that of inhaled tobacco smoke, while no tobacco, smoke, or combustion is actually involved in its operation.

in Hongkong e-cigarette is a illegal product. however, after the government of Hong Kong increase the excise on tobacco, it create a huge market for e-cigarette.

in the position of e-cigarette company, they brag about their products are no harm of health, which can replace the real cigarette. also it can be used for quit the habit of smoking. the producers even product lots of different flavor..such as strawberry, banana or different kind of design on the cigarette.

the reason of this product is illegal is because it contains nicotine (even it is much less than the real cigarette), which can cause you cancer.
although the advertisement brag about e- cigarette can helps you to quit, it also can inviting people to smoke. because it might gives people a perception that it is not easy to get addictive. that is what HongKong government worry about.

i can understand as a marketers this is a huge opportunity to make a lot of money. but i think sometimes they need to find out the balance of society morale too. instead of just making money from the consumers.

  1. I agree with balancing society morale(business ethic?). I'm not a business man so I don't know, what kind of struggle they need to go through to produce or sell the product might bring people serious disease.(such as cancer) or in my guess people are just going to convince themselves with idea like; "if I don't sell it, someone else will do it, so why don't I take this money?" But as I said, I am no business man so I don't know, but to me this is a terrible thing to do.

waoo it sounds good to smoke with effect on your health, I would like to try this stuff, as far e-cig can replace the real cig its hard to say because as smoker, smoking is about psychological impact, the marketer they identify the opportunity to earn profit but they should consider the social responsiblity and ethics

That sounds all a bit implausible to me. I struggle to believe this will succeed and outperform real cigarettes...but you never know, I would have certainly not believed a couple of decades ago, that email will replace most of written correspondence. :-D

There is certainly some valuable potential in that product, given that smoking has been banned from many public place. This product would be one of the solutions that allow you to smoke at places where smoking prohibited.

Probably it would be better to promote the product that way and to acknowledge that it is bad for your health - as a competitor to the cigarette industry.
