the brand survival package

i was reading a product design book today and i think it is very interesting to share.
this is one of the product design from the book call
"the brand - survival package" which is designed by Lloyd's Graphic Design and Communication.

you can know more about them from this link

this package is distributed in a silver pouch that is heat sealed and labeled.
the colour scheme, text and icons are all inspired by safety graphics.
only 150 were produced.

in this case, they refer to how many business corporate identities are such a bad state that they are really in need of emergency repair and should consult a design professional qualified in a brand aid, brand resuscitation and corporate identity crisis management.

the brand survival kit contains the all important manual, which begins by sharing insightful information on the need for the companies to build brand recognition.

to push the playful concept further, pocketknife, flashlight and emergency rations are included as appropriate essentials for surviving the jungle of today's volatile marketplace.
the group is trying  to create an awareness of the importance and value of brand.

i think design and branding are inextricably linked together.
for branding it is all about how to build up a successful brand personality and image, and design is one of the important element to help to reach this goal.

like the creative director of "the brand - survival package" says
"to survive in the business world today, with the brand - conscious consumer,
it is essential to have a place a well - designed identity implemented effectively and consistently."

The design of the emergency survival kit is very eye-cathing in my first sight as red symbolises danger. Here, companies suffering from business crisis are encouraged to using the package.

I personally think that the message was well delivered in a way to attract customers and stimulate their curiosity to open the kit.

I do agree with what clara has stated - 'design and branding are inextricably linked to together' Nothing would work if either one of them is missing and may result in inefficacious product promotion and hence resources can be wasted.

A corporate design that is on the one hand clear and on the other hand recognizable is an indispensable part of the corporate identity of a successful company. But to my mind the best design concept is just empty words if it is ignored and not implemented. To my mind, that not only means that the PR practitioners of an organization should know how to use the corporate design properly – everyone in a company should be aware of it! E.g. presentation slides should always consider the corporate design rules no matter if the presentation is held internal, external, with a PR scope or in a completely different context to convey a constant visual picture of the company.

    Hi Clara,
I agree with you that design is incredibly important. As consumers we are bombarded with so many different brands everyday. To stand out from the competition it is essential to have an eye catching and well designed brand. The design of the brand has to link in with corporate identity of the company and be consistent in anything a company does.
Ive always admired Virgin's corpoate identity. The design and branding links in very well with the organisation's personality which is personified by Richard Branson himself.
    Good post

abstracted ways are always eyebow catching but may in the risk of only involving in a sub-group
in all i agree with you
the world is coming close a state of art in all domains, and this is one sort of art in my opinion, so, as known, art is a peersonal judgement, and i always be open to any possibility and creation.
    that is a brilliant work
