the brand survival package


i was reading a product design book today and i think it is very interesting to share.
this is one of the product design from the book call 
"the brand - survival package" which is designed by Lloyd's Graphic Design and Communication.

this package is distributed in a silver pouch that is heat sealed and labeled. 
the colour scheme, text and icons are all inspired by safety graphics.
only 150 were produced. 

in this case, they refer to how many business corporate identities are such a bad state that they are really in need of emergency repair and should consult a design professional qualified in a brand aid, brand resuscitation and corporate identity crisis management.

the brand survival kit contains the all important manual, which begins by sharing insightful information on the need for the companies to build brand recognition.

to push the playful concept further, pocketknife, flashlight and emergency rations are included as appropriate essentials for surviving the jungle of today's volatile marketplace. 
the group is trying  to create an awareness of the importance and value of brand.


i think design and branding are inextricably linked together.
for branding it is all about how to build up a successful brand personality and image, and design is one of the important element to help to reach this goal.


like the creative director of "the brand - survival package" says
"to survive in the business world today, with the brand - conscious consumer, 
it is essential to have a place a well - designed identity implemented effectively and consistently."

so it woman the easiest marketing target?
i think in some way - yes

women, by nature, love shopping. whether they need it or not.
this is a discussion of that: 

don't get me wrong, men love shopping too. but the way men 
love shopping is entirely different from how women love shopping. 
they only have a few things we like to shop about.

of course, there is always fashion to blame. 
it is a marketing trap that women are caught in. 
if you don't buy, you get left behind. 
because everyone buys, you lose out if you don't. 
u will be labeled as passé. to every lady trying to stay in the forefront of fashion, 
that is an absolute no-no. 


but seriously, who can blame women? 

look at the millions of advertisements out there, telling us we need this and that. 
one thing that never ceases to amaze me is how conniving marketeers can be. 
they keep brainwashing women into believing that we never have enough. 
we come up with more and more products, so that one just has to keep 
buying to keep up. 

one lipstick is not enough to create great lip colour, you need at least two lipsticks.

that's why i feel really guilty about bought another lip gloss again last week

Confessions of Facebookaholic



today after i chated with my friends,
i just realize that actually a lot of people are So into facebook
for example my friend K he needs to browse on facebook more
than 15 times per day. My other friend May told me she can't
live without facebook. 



Coffee, chocolate and and social networking site Facebook are 
the most common addictions in the UK, 
a study into modern lifestyles has revealed.
Coffee tops the list of the 10 most common modern addictions, 
followed by chocolate consumption with Facebook in third place.
The much railed against vices of alcohol and drugs didn't even 
make the top 10 addictions.

i just think many people have the same feeling about
facebook can get really addictive. because of the constant
updates as your friends add new photos? or you can build up 
your image though there, just be someone you want to be?

1. Do you check your account more than 5 times per day?

2. Do you often make references to Facebook when you are in 

social situations? (ie. "Oh I think I am friends with you on Facebook"

3. You feel popular when someone "tags" you in a photo (it shows others that you do actually get out)

4. You join a new group on a daily basis.

5. You have commented that the Facebook face logo looks like one of your friends.

6. You comment to your friend, "Oh I see you added Snowborading to your interests"

7. You find yourself saying things like "I will tag you in this "photo" when you are out.

8. You like to be poked and you like poking in return.

i think facebook is one of the successful and fast growing social media network in last 10 years
it makes a big communication network,
and some company actually used facebook to market its products or services.

the successful of  facebook marketing just make everyone become a "Facebookaholic" !!
